Challenge: Go Clean in 2017!

December 30, 2016

Cleanliness is imperative to our overall health. We scrub, wash and disinfect. Despite our best efforts, some over-the-counter products can actually cause more harm than good.

Over the course of our lives, we are exposed to a swath of harmful chemicals, synthetics and additives. One of the many reasons people make the move to essential oils is because they can offer an effective alternative for many of our favorite beauty products, cleaning supplies and air fresheners.

According to the Environmental Working Group, the average woman uses 12 products containing 168 ingredients every day. The average man uses 6 products with 85 ingredients a day. That’s a lot of substances swirling through our environments daily. Although not all ingredients in those products are harmful, many can cause serious damage to our health.

This month, we are committing to helping you rid your shelves of dangerous chemicals and instead, turn to nature for substitutions. We’ve researched the latest natural replacements to come up with DIYs and educational pieces to help guide you to a cleaner and clearer 2017.

Join us in our commitment to 100% pure, natural products!

Hi Hang! We do not recommend the internal use of essential oils, because we can’t intake the medical history or conditions of every customer, and thus cannot provide safe guidelines unique to each user. With that said, we would recommend consulting with an aromatheapist if you wish to use 100% pure essential oils in this way.

Hi Anita! We do not recommend the internal use of essential oils without first consulting with your medical doctor and an aromatherapist.

Hi Yvonne! We would recommend checking out our 150 Ways to Use Essential Oils brochure for tips and ideas on how to use the oils:

In regards to diluting, we always recommend pre-diluting essential oils prior to topical use. A 3% dilution rate is generally recommended for healthy adults.

3%= 15-18 drops of essential oil per 2 Tbsp of carrier oil

Good articles, but where is a list of what essential oils to use, when, how often, and dilution? Thanks

Can’t wait to see your suggestions for clean living! I wish you’d print a book with the descriptions, details, and recipes that you show on the website. Something where we could add pages as you add essential oils, blends and carrier oils (each in its own section) would be great.
