Resources for Essential Oil Beginners

If you’re new to the world of essential oils, you may be feeling a bit overwhelmed by all of the information there is out there. But don’t give up, because you’re not alone! All of us got our start in using essential oils somewhere, and can sympathize with those of you feeling lost.

Part of the confusion with learning about essential oils is knowing which information to trust. With that said, we’ve curated a list of top-trusted resources in the aromatherapy world, for beginners. Even if you’re a seasoned EO user, you'll want to bookmark this page.

Online Introduction Course to Essential Oils

What’s better than online education? And in this case, free online aromatherapy education! Founded in 1999, Aromahead Institute has maintained its position as one of the top and most respected schools for learning about aromatherapy. This course provides a great foundation on aromatherapy, and will help to familiarize you with essential oils.

If you wish to expand your essential oil know-how, you can also take the online Aromatherapy Certification Program to become a Certified Aromatherapist.

Must Have Books

Two books we believe every EO user should have in their library are Essential Oil Safety 2nd edition by Robert Tisserand, and Aromatherapy A Complete Guide To The Healing Art by Kathi Keville and Mindy Green.

One of our main concerns at Edens Garden is that customers are using essential oils safely, which is why we love this book. Essential Oil Safety is your portal into extensive EO safety information, studies and research. Included in this book is Tisserand’s safety advice and more!

From essential oil history, to recipes and blending instructions, Aromatherapy A Complete Guide to the Healing Art has everything the essential oil novice could want, and then some. A few examples of recipes include those for pain, PMS symptoms, sleep related issues, hair growth, and skin treatments. You can trust this book to be your go-to guide for you and your family.
