The Thrifty Girl's Guide To Essential Oils

At Edens Garden, we believe high-quality essential oils shouldn’t break the bank. That’s why we are sharing a few money-saving tips to help you get the most out of your oils. Thrifty girls, listen up!

Sets

You’ll find amazing prices throughout our site, but not all deals are created equal. Always check whether the oils you want are in a set prior to purchasing. Newcomers, take a look at the Intro to Essential Oils Set - you’ll get our three most popular oils and save a few bucks. If you have a better idea of what you’re looking for, opt for a Create Your Own Set. With our Create Your Own 32 Set, each 10ml bottle evens out to about $4.50 - a total steal.

Search Based on Your EO Needs

Did a friend recommend Blue Tansy for allergies or Helichrysum italicum for skin? Save up for these phenomenal oils, but in the meantime make use of our handy-dandy search bar to find more affordable oils that might meet your needs. Simply type allergies” or “skin” in the search bar in the top right corner of the site, then sort results based on “Price: Low to High.” Type in the maximum amount you want to spend on the left-hand side of the page and enjoy shopping!

Try Roll-Ons

Are you dying to try Allure or XOXO but not eager to lay down extra cash? Check to see if the oil you’re curious about is available in a roll-on. For example, XOXO’s 10ml roll-on is cheaper than a 5ml, is pre-diluted for your convenience, and still packs a potent aroma!

Sign Up for Aroma Notes Rewards

Earn rewards every time you shop by signing up for our Aroma Notes Rewards Program. You’ll get 50 Notes just for signing up and 1 Note per $1 spent. Redeem Notes toward future purchases and keep your eye out for special Double Aroma Notes promotions throughout the year!

Take A Look At Our Compare Page

Are you looking for affordable comparisons to blends from another company? Check out our helpful Compare Page and find just the blend you’re looking for. For more comparable blends, contact us at info@edensgarden.com.

Dilute Properly

With essential oils, less is more. Enjoy your essential oils for longer by starting at the maximum recommended dilution rate, 6 drops per 1 oz of carrier oil. Only decrease dilution if you feel you are not experiencing the benefits of the essential oil. Never decrease dilution if you have a negative physical reaction to the oil. Download our Dilution Chart for more help diluting your oils.

Store For Longevity

Store your essentials oils in a cool, dark place like a portfolio case. For easy travel with your essential oils, check out the Eden’s Garden Essential Oil Bag. Keep oils away from sunlight, and be sure to always replace the caps tightly. Proper storage gives your essential oils a longer shelf life and keeps that precious oil working for you. If stored correctly, citrus oils usually last about 1-2 years, while woodier oils that are high in sesquiterpines can last up to 7 years! If you’re not sure how long your oil will last, contact us at info@edensgarden.com with your purchase date and information on how you store your oil.

Check Out Our Sale Section

Last but not least, take a trip now and then to our Sale Section to see if anything catches your eye. Here you’ll find roll-ons, bottles, accessories, and more!

I’ve seen it go both ways, but I definitely think Edens is correct in saying decrease. They also start off by saying “less is more.” I think people have enough common sense to figure that one out…

Hi Jordis! It would be “decrease” dilution because you are adding more essential oil than carrier oil. Thus, the essential oil would be less diluted.

I think someone should be editing these blogs a bit better. For example, it should read ‘increase’ and NOT ‘decrease’ when referring to concentration of essential oil per carrier oil. Some people could misunderstand very easily what you are trying to say, here.
