Despite our best intentions, stress and anxious thoughts can creep into our lives and begin to sour our happiness. Key Lime is an essential oil that helps us slow down and find a sense of harmony and calm.
Key Lime can be especially helpful for those struggling with sadness and feelings of unhappiness. Beyond Key Lime’s sweet and tart aroma, it can be applied topically to help skin irritations and insect bites. It also can improve vitality during the cold and flu season. Key Lime pairs amazingly well with Geranium and other citrus and floral aromas.
Native to Asia, the Lime tree was first introduced by the Moors. British ships transporting Limes were called "lime juicers" because crews depended heavily on the Lime’s high vitamin C content during long voyages. Today, it is cultivated in Italy, Africa, the West Indies and the Americas. The small evergreen tree grows up to 15 feet in height and sprouts ovate leaves, small white flowers and bitter fruit. The peel of the fruit is cold pressed to extract the lovely essential oil.
