Description

Experience the allure of the exotic with Edens Garden's Clove Bud essential oil. Known for its spicy, distinctive aroma, Clove Bud is not just a staple in your favorite chai lattes or gingerbread cookies—it's a wellness wonder with a myriad of benefits. Originating from the Molucca Islands in Indonesia, cloves are the aromatic unopened flower buds of the clove tree, and their warming scent can spark activity and invigorate your senses on those slow days.

Clove Bud essential oil is a popular choice in aromatherapy, but it's also a fantastic addition to massage oils when blended with citrus oils. This soothing blend can help enhance blood circulation throughout the body, promoting overall wellness. Cloves have long been used to lend their aromatic flavor to hot beverages, often paired with cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger for a comforting spiced tea.

Ready to bring the magic of Clove Bud essential oil into your everyday life? Try creating a fragrance pomander by combining Clove Bud oil with an orange—a popular gift in Victorian England symbolizing friendship and warmth. Frequently Asked Questions
What is Clove Bud essential oil good for?
  • Clove bud is a super spicy oil with a strong character, is warming, uplifting and strengthening and helps to foster confidence. Only a little is needed in a blend, so be careful how much you use. It's an excellent pain reliever where it brings warmth to the area as well as an antiinflammatory and immune stimulant. Considering its spiciness, it makes an excellent antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal and works well in blends for DIY hand sanitizer. Clove has also been used for digestive issues including gas.
How to use Clove Bud essential oil?
  • There are many options for using Clove Bud and it gives us a lot of fantastic benefits. When someone is feeling ill, diffuse Clove with other microbe-killing oils such as cinnamon to destroy the pathogens that may be in the air and on surfaces. In topical treatments, due to its hot nature can potentially be skin irritating so we recommend using it in very low amounts in blends. In a belly massage oil, it does wonders for gas and bloating, try blending a drop or two with Sweet Orange and Roman Chamomile. To attack any fungal issues, use it in a foot cream blend with a carrier oil with Tea Tree essential oil. With other pain relieving oils, make a massage oil blend and massage into your achy muscles and then use a heating pad to help the oils sink deep into the tissue. In blends for hair growth, try using a minute amount blended with Rosemary in an unscented shampoo and massage the scalp for a few minutes.
Can you use Clove Bud essential oil for toothache?
  • Clove oil contains the active ingredient eugenol, a natural anesthetic as well as a natural anti-inflammatory. It helps numb and reduce pain and eases a toothache. It may reduce swelling and irritation in the affected area. That being said, Clove oil can also cause distress due to its hot nature if ingested. We do not recommend at all the use of essential oils internally unless you are under the supervision of a trained aromatherapist. However, one way people do use Clove on toothaches is to put one drop on a cotton swab (Q-tip) and carefully and lightly rub the affected tooth and gum area with the swab.
Is Clove Bud essential oil a vasodilator?
  • Clove Bud oil has potential to interfere with platelet aggregation when there is vascular injury and cause vasodilation. This means that Clove bud may interfere with the ability to form a blood clot if there is an injury. If you have issues with formation of blood clots or have issues with hemophilia, avoiding the use of Clove Bud may be a wise decision.
Is Clove Bud essential oil the same as Clove oil?
  • The two oils are different but are derived from the same plant. Clove Bud is steam distilled from the flowering bud and has a much stronger aroma and strength. Clove leaf or Clove essential oil is derived from the leaf of the plant with steam distillation and although similar in aroma is not quite as potent as Clove Bud. Clove oil is potentially helpful as an insect repellent and digestive aid and has expectorant, antimicrobial, antifungal, and antiviral properties.
