Frequently Asked Questions
Is Avocado oil a seed oil?
  • Avocado oil is actually not made from the seed. The flesh of the fruit is used to make Avocado oil by cold pressing the pulp surrounding the pit. The pulp is dried and put through a process to extract the oil. The oil contains an incredible amount of healthy essential fatty acids beneficial for the body, including oleic acid, linoleic acid and palmitoleic acid.
Is Avocado oil good for hair?
  • Avocado oil can help to stimulate blood flow to the scalp due to its fat, minerals, and antioxidant compounds. All of these benefits can aid scalp irritation and inflammation, enable the growth of strong, healthy hair as well as help to repair dry or damaged hair. These same components can also potentially help to fight hair loss.
Can you cook with Avocado oil?
  • Avocado oil is an excellent choice for cooking since it has a high smoking point (meaning it can be used at higher heat levels). It also is nearly flavorless which makes it a good choice when you do not want the oil you use to influence the taste of a meal. Avocado oil makes an excellent choice to make homemade condiments such as mayonnaise.
How is Avocado oil made?
  • Avocado oil is made by cold pressing the pulp of the avocado fruit. The pulp or flesh is removed and dried and put through a machine process to extract the oil. It takes approximately 15 to 20 avocados to make one 8-ounce bottle of oil. Cold pressing ensures that the essential fatty acids and other nutrients in the pulp are preserved.
Is Avocado oil better than olive oil?
  • Olive oil and Avocado oil are both excellent oils whether using them for cooking or for products as a carrier oil. They both contain good fats such as essential fatty acids that can improve heart health and help to reduce internal inflammation if ingested, especially when the oils are not heated. Olive oil has slightly different nutrients including potassium, calcium and other vitamins. However, Olive oil has a lower smoking point and cannot withstand high heat when used in cooking.
