Frequently Asked Questions
What is Cinnamon Bark essential oil good for?
  • Cinnamon bark essential oil is rich in the component cinnamaldehyde, and makes a fantastic oil to add to cleaning blends due to its superb antimicrobial abilities. In a diffuser, Cinnamon Bark is quite stimulating so it is recommended for use in small doses and has the ability to calm stress while being mentally stimulating. Diffused in the air it will kill airborne microbes and act as an immune stimulant. However, due to its very hot nature, it is not recommended for topical use.
Can you ingest Cinnamon Bark essential oil?
  • Essential oils are powerful, concentrated substances so a little goes a long way. Two of the most effective ways to use essential oils are by way of inhalation and topical use. Ingesting Cinnamon Bark essential oil is rarely necessary and not recommended, no matter the brand due to its incredibly hot nature. Ingestion can lead to adverse reactions such as medication contraindications, mucous membrane irritation, sensitization and nausea if done incorrectly. Therefore, if you wish to take essential oils internally, we strongly recommend consulting with a knowledgeable professional with experience in internal use.
How to use Cinnamon Bark essential oil?
  • There are several ways to effectively use Cinnamon Bark essential oil and obtain its benefits, including 1.) Add 10 drops to your essential oil diffuser per 100 ml of water. 2.) Add 10 drops to an Essential Oil Inhaler and take it with you for on-the-go therapeutic use. 3.) Create a spray by combining 20 drops Cinnamon Bark and 1 tablespoon 190-proof grain alcohol in a glass spray bottle. After a few hours, add 3 tablespoons of distilled water. Spray onto surfaces and in the air to refresh your space.
Is Cinnamon Bark oil the same as Cinnamon oil?
  • Cinnamon oil otherwise known as Cinnamon Leaf essential oil is a different oil than Cinnamon Bark essential oil. Both essential oils are derived from the same plant and have similar aromatics. Cinnamon Leaf is slightly sweeter with added spiciness and herbaceous. Cinnamon Bark has a stronger aroma with a woodiness added on top and is much hotter and spicier of the two oils. Cinnamon Bark has antifungal and antibacterial properties and needs to be used with great care and at a bare minimum in blends, especially in regard to topical use (1-2 drops max in 1 oz). Cinnamon Leaf is great in blends for colds and flu as well as in blends for pain. Both oils should be used with great care in blending at low dilutions.
Can you diffuse Cinnamon Bark oil?
  • You can diffuse Cinnamon Bark essential oil but we highly suggest that you use this oil in a blend as it is very stimulating, hot and spicy and can irritate mucus membranes, nasal passages and eyes. If you do decide to use in in a diffuser, add minute amounts of it to a blend with soothing, safer and softer essential oils such as Sweet Orange and Patchouli. It is not recommended for use around pets and small children or pregnant women.

Cinnamon smell

I always want to buy the cinnamon pine cones at Christmas time but am hesitant the smell will quickly disappear so I decided to buy this. It definitely smells like cinnamon and a great smell for the holidays.

Definitely a go yo

Cinnamon just has so many uses. It really blows well with other oils and is a common ingredient in some of my favorite blends. This oil is very potent and has a strong and powerful cinnamon smell. I love blending it with peppermint and vanilla for the perfect refreshingly sweet holiday smell. Use it in anything. I think it’s definitely a must have staple.
