Description

Tamanu oil is the secret ingredient you’ve been looking for. At first glance, the thickness and viscosity may intimidate some, but don’t let it! This carrier oil is an emollient and skincare powerhouse with a phytonutrient profile that makes it an intensely soothing option for your topical formulations.

Though thick, Tamanu oil is easily absorbed into the skin and a great option for salves and balms as it is not greasy the way other carrier oils can be. Tamanu oil becomes more solid at cooler temperatures, so it is helpful to gently warm the oil in a warm water bath prior to formulating with it and then use up to 20% in your preparations along with other carrier oils.

Carrier oils are 4 oz and come with a pump.

Soothing Body Balm

2 oz salve jar

1 oz EGCO Coconut Oil

0.4 oz Beeswax

0.4 oz Tamanu Oil

0.1 oz Copaiba Essential Oil

0.1 oz Eucalyptus radiata Essential Oil

Over a double boiler, combine the beeswax, Tamanu Oil, and EGCO Coconut Oil and gently heat until the wax melts. Stir to incorporate and remove from heat. After 5 minutes, test a drop against the inside of your wrist. When it is able to cool without being uncomfortable, add your essential oils to the mixture and stir well, and then immediately pour into your salve container. Allow to finish cooling undisturbed before using.
