USES
Description

Inhale the positive moments of your day and let everything else go with Copaiba essential oil. Commonly used in aromatherapy, Copaiba has a friendly, sweet aroma that encourages easy breathing. Copaiba essential oil contains healing properties that may help ease inflammation, sore muscles, joint pain and more.

Copaiba oil-resin has been used as a native folk remedy dating back to the 16th century by the tribes of northeastern Brazil. The balsam and its essential oil are used as fixatives in soap perfumes and fragrances. The resin is burned in ceremonies for physical and spiritual healing, and many forms of the extract can be found in nearly every marketplace in South America.

Native to Brazil, the Copaiba evergreen tree grows up to 100 feet in height and sprouts yellow flowers that are followed by reddish fruit. By drilling holes into the trunk of the Brazilian copaifera reticulata tree, copaiba resin is extracted and through a steam distillation process, the essential oil is captured. A single tree may offer up to twelve gallons of oil seasonally.

How do I use Copaiba essential oil for pain?
  • To relieve sore muscles and achy joints try making some DIY products that you can use when you need to. For a Sore Muscle Bath Salt blend, combine 1 drop of Copaiba, 1 drop of Peppermint and 3 drops of Frankincense with 1 tablespoon of Castille soap and 1 cup of Epsom salts for added magnesium absorption. Stir together and add to running bath water for a relaxing soak. As an alternative, make yourself a muscle rub by blending a 2 oz glass bottle with a carrier oil of your choice and 10 drops of Copaiba, 5 drops of Peppermint and 5 drops of Frankincense- serrata. Massage as needed into sore areas and use as often as needed. Add 10 minutes of heat after applying the oil blend to further aid inflammation and pain.
Is Copaiba essential oil safe for a teething baby?
  • We do not recommend using essential oils at all with children under the age of 2 years old. Babies have a heightened sensitivity to odors and are way more sensitive to essential oils. They also do not metabolize essential oils as well as adults and their livers can get overloaded quickly. With that being said, we do not recommend using Copaiba essential oil around children under 2 years old.
