How to make Pumpkin Seed oil?
  • It should be noted that unrefined and cold pressed, virgin Pumpkin Seed oil is made directly from dried Pumpkin Seeds. Macerated Pumpkin oil is different from cold pressed Pumpkin Seed oil. Pumpkin Seed oil is made by cold pressing the seeds to extract the seed oil. Its properties are pure and intensely filled with essential fatty acids beneficial to skin and hair health. The cold pressed extraction method generally requires a machine press. Macerated Pumpkin oil, on the other hand, can be made at home by infusing a carrier oil such as Jojoba oil using an old folk method. It's made by soaking the dried Pumpkin seeds in a clean glass mason jar with a neutral oil such as Jojoba oil in the sun for 4-6 weeks and shaking the jar every day. When that time has elapsed, straining the seeds from the oil will make the infused Pumpkin oil./li>

Clear, colorless, not a dark reddish brown as stated

I've purchased this oil from other suppliers, and it's always been dark in color. This oil is absolutely colorless. Even the description here lists it as "dark, reddish brown." Makes me wonder if it's been mislabeled, and not the right oil...

My new go-to

I've tried a lot of different carrier oils but I keep coming back to pumpkin seed. Little to no scent to it and just the right consistency. It absorbs well but still feels richly moisturizing. I use it on my whole body, face and hair!

Great carrier oil

I really like this pumpkin seed oil. I have used it for my skin and hair, as well as my children's hair. It nourishes, softens, and makes hair shiny. Our hair looks a lot healthier. It is not greasy and dissolves well into skin. I add my favorite EOs to it like many others do. I would definitely suggest trying it if you are on the fence. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
