Why I Started Edens Garden
(The Real Story)
In 2009, I didn’t start Edens Garden to build a company.
I started it because people deserved more transparency.
After nearly a decade working in the natural products industry, I fell in love with the power of Essential Oils and their ability to support wellness, encourage relaxation, and bring the beauty of nature into everyday life. But I also saw something that didn’t sit right with me.
Many Essential Oils were sold through MLM Essential Oil companies. That meant inflated pricing, confusing compensation structures, and, at times, limited ingredient transparency. Customers were often paying more because of the sales model, not because of the quality of the oil.
I believed in something simple:
Purity and affordability shouldn’t depend on a business structure.
People deserved access to 100% pure Essential Oils without overpaying. They deserved honest labeling, transparent testing, and fair prices. No recruiting required.
So, from a tiny garage, Edens Garden was born.
From a Garage to a Global Essential Oil Company
I started Edens Garden in a small garage with one clear mission:
Pure essential oils. Fair prices. No MLM.
That mission still defines us today.
We built Edens Garden as a direct-to-consumer Essential Oil company so customers could buy high-quality Essential Oils online without middleman markups. No distributors. No downlines. No hidden costs. Just affordable aromatherapy products backed by integrity.
In the early days, I personally searched for the highest quality Essential Oils available, sourcing from farms and distillers around the globe. I refused to compromise. Even if it cost us more, our customers’ trust came first.
That foundation of transparency, quality, and education is still at the core of who we are.
A Defining Moment in New Zealand
Years before launching Edens Garden, I was on a mission trip in New Zealand. I remember sitting on a hillside, looking out at untouched countryside as the sun glistened across the landscape.
The air felt pure. My mind felt quiet. My soul felt restored.
That moment shaped me.
Later, when I studied aromatherapy more deeply, I discovered Essential Oils carry that same experience. The concentrated essence of plants, the therapeutic aroma of nature, the calm and grounding that comes from something pure and untouched.
I knew more people deserved that feeling in their daily lives.
That belief became the heartbeat of Edens Garden: making the benefits of aromatherapy accessible, affordable, and trustworthy.
Why “No MLM” Matters
Let me be clear. This was never about criticizing people. It was about creating an alternative.
The essential oil industry had become dominated by multi-level marketing. While that model works for some, it often leads to:
- Higher essential oil prices
- Limited transparency
- Sales pressure instead of education
I wanted to build a non-MLM Essential Oil company rooted in education, safety, and integrity. A company where customers could shop confidently, knowing they were paying for the oil, not the structure behind it.
Today, when people search for:

- “Best Essential Oil company not MLM”

We provide GC/MS testing reports for every batch of Essential Oil we carry. That means each oil is third-party tested for purity and composition. Nothing added. Nothing taken away.

Even through seasons of rapid growth, including welcoming four children into our family in just a few short years, we’ve remained grounded in faith, perseverance, and gratitude.
