For digestive support to reduce abdominal cramping or spasm, use it as a massage oil made with a carrier oil like fractionated coconut oil combined with Roman Chamomile or Sweet Fennel. Is Bergamot oil good for anxiety?

If you or someone you love happens to have a spasmodic cough, try using it with steam inhalation or in a diffuser blended with Juniper Berry or Laurel Leaf and capture the warmth of Cardamom for added expectorant qualities.

  • Bergamot blends well in massage oils, roll-ons and with topical skin care treatments as well as with natural personal perfumes and can be used on pulse points and in abdominal massage oil. Try adding a drop of Bergamot to your hair which will keep its aroma throughout the day. An important mention however, like many other citrus essential oils, it is highly recommended to dilute Bergamot essential oil since it contains a phototoxic element called bergapten. Should you use this oil on your skin and go out in the sun, you will sustain burns that can cause redness, skin irritation and potential scarring. If using topically it is advised to use approximately 1-2 drops maximum in 1 oz of carrier oil. Avoid direct sunlight if using over this amount for up to 18 hours after applying it to exposed skin.
