Hi Debra! We recommend a preservative to prevent mold, bacteria and the growth of other microorganisms. Microbes aren’t always seen, so for this reason we recommend adding a preservative.

This recipe seems too rich. I’ve been using 1/8 cup of unscented Castile soap, 1/4 tsp of coconut oil and 10 drops of eo. Then I fill with distilled water. It never lasts more than a week so I don’t add a preservative. Is this ineffective?

Hi Dena! Diffusing Healthy Hero is a great way to experience this blend, and obtain it’s benefits.

Hi Maria! You could make a hand spray by combining 2 tsp grain alcohol, 12 drops essential oil of your choosing and 2 oz distilled water in a PET plastic spray bottle.

Hi Lauren! Yes you use Coconut and most nut-free carrier oils. These ingredients do mix well and are best stirred together.

I have two questions:
1) what’s a nut free alternative? Fractioned coconut oil?
2) do these ingredients combine well, or do you have to shake before each use?
Thanks!

Hi Helen! Just add 10 drops of the essential oil of your choosing. No carrier oil or water necessary.
