What is Saro essential oil used for?
  • Saro essential oil (Cinnamosma fragrans) is an underdog in the aromatherapy world. Diffused, it supports immunity and the respiratory system. Additionally, Saro helps uplift, while boosting creativity and clarity. Diluted and applied topically, Saro soothes sore throat and inflammation. In different cultures, Saro has been used for its healing antiviral properties.

The oil contains more than 50% of oxides (predominantly 1,8 cineole) which acts as an expectorant to aid coughs, congestion, and other respiratory ailments. It can also help reduce inflammation which can loosen mucus for clearer breathing. To use Saro for coughing, create a chest rub by combining 1 oz unsencted lotion and 12 drops Saro. Apply directly to the chest taking slow breaths.
Where to apply Saro essential oil?
  • Saro oil is one of the most cherished and welcoming aromas. As such, it makes a beautiful personal aroma. Once you’ve diluted your Saro oil, we recommend applying it to your pulse points, such as the inner elbows, neck, behind the knees or wrists. First time buying Saro and I love it!

I bought this because of the antiviral properties. I used it I'm my hand sanitizer along with tea tree oil. I really like the smell so I add it to my diffuser with the fighting five. I love it!

Fresh, Crisp, Bright

I love this oil! I'm not sure why some think it's too strong and not appealing. It is fresh, crisp, bright, and slightly sweet. Soothing and calming! Great for immune system support, I'll be including this in my regular routine. Perfect for use in massage

So Good!!

I bought this based on what I read about Saro in "Aromatherapy of the Heart" by Andrea Butje. I put it in a diffuser this morning with Ravinstara, Cypress, Rosemary, and a touch of Geranium. It is amazing, and my congestion is clearing up. I am surprised how much I love this oil!

Very Strong

I bought this on a whim just to try something new, not really knowing what I was getting. It's not a pleasant smell, but also not a bad one. It's very strong and reminds me a little of eucalyptus, but less sweet. I haven't yet figured out the best use for it and probably won't buy it again when it runs out, but I'm enjoying experimenting with it. I've mixed it with eucalyptus, tea tree, lavender, cypress, peppermint, and various citrus scents like lemon and sweet orange. Whatever you're using it for, you probably only need a drop or two as a little goes a very long ways.

Earned it's place in my "medicine cabinet" oils.

I ordered this after reading about the 10 new oils EG recently released. The reports of its' anti-inflammatory and analgesic benefits and scientific breakdown of it's qualities meant it went straight in my cart. My husband and I suffer from chronic sinus infections. I'm always looking for new, natural ways to keep those symptoms at bay. I ordered this and Kunzea to help along those lines. I've been feeling a bit "sinusy" the last few days so I've been diffusing Kunzea and rubbing this and Kunzea on my feet and on my temples and sinuses (with carrier oil). I can't say for certain it was the oils, but I did NOT get a sinus infection, my symptoms passed. I also used this with coconut oil on a pinched nerve on my back and it helped bring some relief. It has a very strong aroma, not for the faint of heart. Saro smells a lot like the strongest Eucalyptus and Tea Tree oils you're probably already familiar with. It's a bit too strong to diffuse, for my tastes. But if you need a steam treatment when you're sick with a cold or bronchitis, this will likely help you feel much better and break things up. If you're looking for more oils to add to your "please help me breath and get sick less often" line up, I highly recommend this one.
