DIY Father's Day Beard & Cleansing Balm

Celebrating the people we love should be done everyday, but Father’s Day is a time when we’re especially reminded to cherish dads and father figures a little more. If you have a dad in your life who’s difficult to gift or “doesn’t want anything this year” then why not make them something? A handmade gift is one sure way to sayI love you.

With that, EG formulators came up with a multi-purpose beard and cleansing balm, with their dads and yours in mind. It’s takes about 30 minutes to make, has an aroma dad is sure to enjoy, nourishes both beard and skin, and will make him feel loved. Here’s how to make it.

What you need

158 g Soy wax

20 gFenugreek oil

20 g Mango butter

20 dropsYuzu

15 dropsPetitgrain

7 dropsPalmarosa

Tins or jars

How to

Yield: Approx. 7 oz of balm

Weigh your ingredients. Melt together the soy wax and mango butter over a double boiler. Add in Fenugreek. Once melted, set aside for ten minutes before adding Yuzu, Petitgrain and Palmarosa. Pour into containers and leave out to cool fully before putting a lid on. Top off with a fun label and instruct dad to take a small dollop, and run it through his beard or mustache from roots to ends. For cleansing, apply a thin layer to skin, let sit for 5-10 minutes and remove with a warm, wet cloth.
