Toxins Hiding In Your Makeup

Many people don’t realize that their favorite makeup products might be hiding a cocktail of toxic ingredients that can harm their skin and overall health. From parabens and phthalates to synthetic fragrances and heavy metals, conventional makeup often contains chemicals linked to:[1]

  • Hormone disruption
  • Skin irritation
  • Long-term health risks

These toxins can also clog pores, trigger allergic reactions, and potentially contribute to serious conditions when absorbed through the skin. The alarming reality is that many of these ingredients are not strictly regulated, leaving consumers vulnerable to harmful exposure with every application.

Switching to natural and toxin-free makeup is one of the best ways to protect your skin and health. That’s why Edens Garden is leading the charge by offering DIY makeup solutions that are safe, effective, and made from clean, plant-based ingredients. Say goodbye to chemical-laden products and embrace a toxin-free beauty routine that truly cares for your skin.

Choosing Clean Makeup Ingredients

Crafting your own natural blush at home ensures you know exactly what goes onto your skin—no hidden chemicals or synthetic fillers. Choosing pure, essential oil-infused makeup not only enhances your natural beauty but also supports a cleaner, healthier lifestyle.

Here’s a breakdown of the ingredients in our clean alternative blush DIY.

Shea Butter

Shea Butter is a powerful natural moisturizer known for its rich concentration of vitamins A and E, which help nourish and hydrate dry, damaged skin.[2] Its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties support skin healing, reduce irritation, and promote a smooth, youthful complexion.

Carnauba Wax

Carnauba Wax is a clean, natural ingredient derived from the leaves of the carnauba palm, known for its ability to create a protective barrier on the skin while locking in moisture. This vegan-friendly, non-toxic wax is rich in emollient properties, helping to soften and smooth the skin, making it an excellent choice for sensitive skin and natural skincare formulations.

Camellia Seed Oil

Camellia Seed oil is a lightweight yet deeply moisturizing oil packed with antioxidants and omega fatty acids, making it ideal for nourishing and revitalizing dry or aging skin. Known for its ability to improve skin elasticity and promote a smoother, more youthful complexion, Camellia oil is a popular choice in natural skincare for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties.

Damiana Essential Oil

Damiana essential oil is known for its soothing and rejuvenating properties, making it a great choice for promoting healthy, glowing skin. Rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, Damiana oil helps to calm irritated skin, improve circulation, and support a balanced, clear complexion in natural skincare routines.[3]

Brazilian Purple Clay

Brazilian Purple Clay is a gentle, natural colorant derived from minerals and iron oxide, commonly used in cosmetic formulations to add a soft, purple hue. This vegan-friendly, non-toxic ingredient not only provides a beautiful color but also offers detoxifying and soothing benefits, making it ideal for natural skincare products like masks and soaps.

So, what would I use if I needed a color less purple and more rose?

Sherri Campbell

I see a few shades of the Brazilian Purple Clay. In the finished product photo, is that the shade of the clay that I should look for?
Also, have you tried using other clays with different shades?
