This Or That: Essential Oil Blends For Skincare

This week, we launched our newest skincare blend: Skin Love! And while many of you were quick to shout “Give me all the skincare", others were left wondering what the difference is between Skin Love and other EG skincare blends you may already own. The blends we’re referring to of course are Age Defy, Cellulite and now - Skin Love. So what makes these blends unique? Read on to find out the 411 on our expertly formulated blends for skincare.

Age Defy

Contains: Frankincense, Sandalwood, Lavender, Myrrh, Helichrysum and Rose

The OG of EG skincare blends, Age Defy touts a current 4.9 out of 5-star rating on our website. For years, Age Defy has been proving that natural, plant-powered skincare works wonders by reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and overall restoring skin to be more youthful-looking. And it’s no wonder why as it contains some of the most well-researched EOs for all things skin, including Frankincense and Myrrh which have been shown to producemiraculous benefits when combined

Along with its benefits, Age Defy’s aroma is almost too good to be true. Herbal and rosy with green-undertones and an inviting freshness, people are likely to compliment you for its beautiful aroma (along with how lovely your face looks).

Bottom Line: Age Defy is best for mature skin. It has an herbal, rosy, fresh aroma and comes highly rated for its proven effectiveness.

Note: Age Defy contains Myrrh which is not recommended to be used if pregnant and nursing.

Contains: Grapefruit, Juniper Berry, Cypress, May Chang, Cedarwood, Fir Needle, Sage, Pink Pepper, Birch, Fennel and Black Pepper

A godsend to those of us with skin imperfections (ahem, everyone...), Cellulite joined the EG family about four years ago and has also maintained a whopping 4.9 out of 5 star rating. As the name implies, this blend smooths the look of cellulite, lumps, bumps and other little reminders that you’re human. Cellulite contains highly effective essential oil actives, including Grapefruit and Cypress which, in a clinical study, reduced waist circumference and subcutaneous fat in postmenopausal women when used in a massage. If you find yourself picking up a bottle of Cellulite, we recommend using it in a nightly body oil or sugar scrub.

As if you needed another reason to love Cellulite synergy blend, its aroma is fruity, zesty invigorating and a great way to start off your day if you ask us. There’s so many reasons to love this blend and its fun-loving aroma is a biggie for us aroma-heads.

Bottom Line: Use primarily to reduce the appearance of skin dimpling. Cellulite’s aroma is fruity, zesty and has been described by one reviewer as “an energizing scent that I don't grow tired of.”

Note: Cellulite is phototoxic meaning you should not expose any area of skin in which Cellulite has been applied, to the sun. This blend is also not recommended to be used if pregnant and nursing.

Skin Love

Contains: Frankincense, Sandalwood, Lavender, Helichrysum, Evening Primrose CO2, Roman Chamomile, Rosehip CO2, Pine, Geranium, German Chamomile, Seabuckthorn Berry CO2, Copaiba, Marigold Flower CO2, Gurjun Balsam, Rose and Vanilla CO2

If Skin Love were to have a profile on a dating app, it would probably read something like, “Do you want someone to romance your skin? To smooth out those worry lines? To accept you for your eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis while also helping you overcome those skin issues? To help you look beautiful, even when you’re makeup-less? Baby, I’m all of that and more in a bottle.” This hunky blend has truly stolen our hearts with its incredible, botanical-based benefits. Containing oils like anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich Sandalwood, skin-cell-regenerative Frankincense, wound healing Geranium and highly effective, new-to-aromatherapy CO2s like Rosehip and Seabuckthorn, this formula is one of the most exciting products to hit the natural skincare industry.

Need more convincing? It’s highly-elevated aroma spellsluxury skincare. Herbaceous, gently floral and earthy, Skin Love is a bouquet of beautiful botanicals marked by resinous Frankincense, soft Lavender and terepenic Pine.

Bottom Line: Skin Love is our preferred skincare blend for acne, eczema, redness, inflammation and daily skincare maintenance. Its aroma is herbaceous, gently floral and unlike anything else.

Hi Jillian! Skin Love is safe to use while pregnant and nursing. We recommend following safe aromatherapy practices for pregnancy and speaking with your doctor before using essential oils ✨

Hi Edens Team! Can Skin Love be used when pregnant or nursing? I noticed that Cellulite and Age Defy are not recommended during that time, but no mention above for the 3rd, Skin Love. I always so so so appreciate when there is a suggested guideline for pregnancy and nursing.

Hi! Return customer here! Love your oils and products. One of my favorite scents is Tranquility. I was wondering if you would ever consider making that into a bath soak, massage oil, or bar soap?

Hi Käthlin! The best way would be to dilute it in a carrier oil (1% for facial use and 3% for full body) and apply it in the morning and/or evening as apart of your skincare routine. It does not need to be washed off.

Hi Lola! Yes, these two blends contain similar ingredients but Skin Love is formulated to be more compatible with adult skincare needs. However, you can still use Soothe & Smooth for all of the same purposes.

How would you use skin love in a skin care regimen? Dilute it with a carrier oil, wash it off with warm water, apply with a cotton ball, etc?

Looking at the ingredients, Skin Love looks very similar to Soothe & Smooth from the Kids’ line. Can S&S be used for the same benefits as Skin Love (since I already own S&S)?

Based on Skin Love’s ingredients, how specifically does Pine and Vanilla CO2 assist in skin care?
