What Is The Most Gifted Item On Father's Day And What Does Every Father Want?

It all depends on him. Your job is first to ask yourself first, “What would Dad love?”

We know that no two Dads are alike and most gifts are not one size fits all, so it may be difficult to pin down one thing for every dad. Whatever his proclivities are, we have an exceptional lineup of DIY essential oil gift ideas that are geared to fit all types of fathers.

What Do You Give Someone On Father's Day?

We have all heard that the best way to a man's heart is through his stomach. While this idea definitely holds true for many, there are so many other things that can also capture his heart and last a lot longer than his favorite foods. We suggest that making something will demonstrate how deeply you care.

What Do You Give Someone Who Likes Essential Oils?

There is an abundance of essential oil products you can make that are as unique as he is. We have compiled a list of simple DIY projects. You may want to consider making a few of these products as most are incredibly simple to put together.

#1 Nourishing Beard Oil

Making beard oil is as simple as diluting essential oils into a carrier oil. There are a number of carrier oils that are ideal for facial hair, such as Argan oil, Avocado oil, Coconut oil, Jojoba oil and even lighter oils such as Meadowfoam Seed oil. Most of these oils have neutral aromas but have slightly different viscosities.

Meadowfoam is the thinnest and a great pick for a non-greasy beard oil. Avocado oil, Coconut oil and Jojoba oil are great choices for skin with a medium viscosity. Each oil has a neutral scent and helps to tame frizzy beards while being gentle on the skin. Argan oil, on the other hand, has a mildly nutty aroma plus the benefit of really being fantastic for skin health.

Earth & Wood blend is an excellent option for beard oil. For a more custom option, try out this recipe:

  1. Add 12 drops of essential oil and 2 oz carrier oil to a glass bottle.
  2. When needed, take a dime size amount and massage it into facial hair.

#2 Rosemary Mint Shaving Cream

This shaving cream will not only give Dad a smooth shave but add an energetic pep to his step. The essential oils have the added benefit of fighting off microbes.[1]

  1. Melt Shea Butter and Coconut oil over low heat in a double boiler.
  2. While those oils are melting, combine the Peppermint and Rosemary essential oils with the Jojoba oil in a separate glass or ceramic bowl.
  3. Once the Shea Butter and Coconut Oil are melted, carefully pour and stir the melted oils into the bowl with the Jojoba and essential oils.
  4. Place the bowl in the refrigerator and chill until solid (approx 10-15 minutes).
  5. Once the oils have solidified, remove the bowl and use an immersion blender to whip it for a minute or two until fluffy.
  6. Spoon into a 2 oz jar, label, and keep in a cool, dry place when not in use.

#3 Natural After Shave

With its rich “leather” and grounding aromatics, this smoky, earthy and musky blend of essential oils is the perfect addition to aftershave. Its simple instructions make it easy.
